Client Testimonials

NI

Nur Izzati binti Hamid

Fintech Startup Founder, KL

We needed someone who actually understood the regulatory sandbox process in Malaysia, not just the theory. brevelles's team walked us through the BNM application step by step. They were straightforward about what to expect and where the potential hold-ups might be. Really appreciated that honesty.

Chen Wei Liang

Manufacturing Director, Selangor

Our factory expansion required DOE approvals and the EIA process felt overwhelming at first. brevelles helped us understand which steps were mandatory and which documentation we'd need to prepare. There were a few delays on the government side, but the brevelles team kept us informed throughout. Would have liked slightly faster turnaround on some of the draft documents, but overall a solid experience.

Priya Kumari a/p Rajan

IT Services Company, Penang

We had a contractual dispute with a former client and weren't sure whether to pursue court action or try mediation. brevelles laid out both paths clearly — the costs, the timeframes, the likely outcomes. We went with mediation and reached a resolution in six weeks. That kind of honest guidance is hard to find.

Mohd Razif bin Abdullah

Property Developer, Johor

Our land conversion application had stalled with the state authority for months. brevelles reviewed the paperwork, spotted a few issues with how we'd structured the submission, and helped us resubmit with the right documentation. The application went through within two months after that. Very professional service.

Tan Li Mei

E-Commerce Business Owner, KL

I needed help getting my platform's terms of service right — particularly around consumer protection and data handling under Malaysian law. brevelles drafted clear, comprehensive terms that I could actually understand. They also explained the compliance requirements I hadn't even considered. The initial turnaround took a bit longer than I expected, but the quality was worth it.

Arun Kumar a/l Selvam

Construction Company, Selangor

We had a construction payment dispute that was heading toward full litigation. brevelles suggested AIAC arbitration as a faster option. Their preparation was thorough, and the arbitrator ruled largely in our favour. The whole process took about three months — far less than what a court case would have required.

Case Studies

SaaS Company Regulatory Compliance

Challenge

A Singapore-based SaaS provider expanding into Malaysia needed to ensure their product, marketing, and data practices complied with the Electronic Commerce Act 2006, PDPA, and CMA 1998. They had limited familiarity with Malaysian regulatory requirements.

Solution

brevelles conducted a full regulatory audit of the client's platform, drafted Malaysian-compliant terms of service and privacy policy, and advised on data localisation requirements. We also prepared a compliance roadmap for their ongoing operations.

Results

The client launched in Malaysia within eight weeks of engaging us, with full regulatory compliance. No enforcement issues have arisen in the six months since launch. The compliance roadmap continues to guide their operations.

Palm Oil Mill Environmental Licensing

Challenge

A palm oil processing company in Sabah received a notice of non-compliance from the DOE regarding waste discharge levels. They faced potential fines and operational restrictions if the matter wasn't resolved promptly.

Solution

brevelles reviewed the client's existing environmental management practices, prepared a remediation plan, and negotiated a compliance timeline with the DOE on the client's behalf. We also advised on process changes to prevent future non-compliance.

Results

The DOE accepted the remediation plan and waived the proposed fine. The client implemented the recommended changes and has maintained full compliance since. Annual environmental audits now form part of their standard operations.

Cross-Border Commercial Arbitration

Challenge

A Malaysian logistics firm had a payment dispute with a Thai supplier amounting to RM 2.3 million. The contract specified AIAC arbitration, and the supplier was contesting the claim entirely.

Solution

brevelles represented the client throughout the AIAC arbitration process — from initial filing through to the final hearing. We prepared detailed submissions, coordinated witness statements, and managed document discovery across both jurisdictions.

Results

The arbitrator awarded 87% of the claimed amount in our client's favour. The award was enforceable in Thailand under the New York Convention. Total elapsed time from filing to award was approximately four months.
